Adhesives:- Print on labels provides a wide range of adhesives for any retail application including, general pricing, price mark-down, price marking, product coding for EPOS systems etc and many more.
Price Gun Labels with Permanent Adhesive:
This adhesive is typically used by retail on products where any post-sale damage to the product packaging is not an important factor to your customer e.g. on tools and adhesives by hardware stores etc.
Permanent adhesive can be used on most food items because they are generally left on by most customers because they have no need to remove them; however there are a few important considerations to take into account. ‘Price labels – switching’ is a commonly used practice by certain ‘shoppers’ when they remove the correct price label on the product and replace it with a price label showing a lower price which they remove from another product; thereby they have effectively stolen from you and you are none the wiser!
The possible problem with using permanent adhesive on food products is that the products can hang around in a shop for a long while waiting to be sold because they either have a long, or no date life. These days with prices increasing so quickly the retailer may wish to re-price his existing already labelled stock on the shelves. If he has used a permanent adhesive then this can present him with a major problem. Without going into detail, experience has proved that retailers generally fall into two categories, they are either prepared to take the time it takes to re-price previously priced stock or they are not. Whichever process you wish to adopt we recommend you seriously think in advance of the adhesive you will require for your price gun labels.
Price Gun Labels with Peelable Adhesive:
As already mentioned above, peelable adhesive has its place in the price labelling marketplace, in fact it is the most widely used adhesive for price gun labels. Providing you obtain industry standard peelable adhesive labels then you should not experience any problems with your customers. Yes! With the wrong adhesive you can have problems with your customers…. It is a fact that if a customer purchases a product as a gift, gets it home, peels off the label and it ruins or spoils the packaging, there are many who will bring this back to your shop either to exchange the product or to request or they their money back. This can be avoided of course and the nature of your business in the main will dictate the best adhesive solution for you. The obvious outlet for using peelable adhesive, and as already mentioned, is gift shops but it is equally applicable to department stores. Indeed, certain outlets use both types of adhesive in the same shop.
Occasionally there are products for which a standard peelable adhesive is not suitable. They either do not stick to the product very well at the time of application or they may appear ok but a week or month later start ‘lifting’. Ultimately, if this were to happen then you could end up with price gun labels scattered over the shop floor! We do have a solution, we call it super-peel. Price Gun Labels with Freezer Adhesive:
Freezer adhesive on price labels sort of speaks for itself. That said, it is only really necessary for products that are already frozen. Should you be labelling products at ambient temperature prior to being put in the freezer then we would recommend the cheaper option of permanent adhesive. Price Guns & Price Gun Labels using Outdoor Material & Adhesive:
Outdoor price labels are primarily used by garden centres and other retail premises that need to label outdoors where the label will be subject to the elements i.e. rain in particular. It took many years before a suitable adhesive became available that would stand up to the rigours of the outdoor environment. Since a suitable one became available however it has become widely recognised as meeting the demands of this type of application.
