This kit includes everything you need to start producing quality ID cards immediately.

  • Tattoo2 ID Card Printer - the ideal printer for most organisations

  • Card Designer Software
  • Webcam
  • Tattoo2 5 Panel YMCKO Colour Printer Ribbon
  • 100 x Plain White Blank ID Cards
  • 100 x Lanyards
  • 100 x Card Holders

In a few seconds, Tattoo card printer personalizes your plastic id cards in full colour or mono. With a 300 dpi standard resolution and 'near-to-edge' printing, Tattoo prints pictures, texts, barcodes and logos as required.

Tattoo2 is a flexible solution which offers a dual card feeding mode. Cards can be loaded automatically thanks to the 100-card feeder but you can also use the manual loading mode for on-demand delivery.

Tattoo2 fully addresses the specific needs of small organizations that print badges in low volume or just once in a while: sport clubs, SMEs, retail outlets, schools, libraries and local authorities.

It is ideal for membership cards, subscription and loyalty cards, badges for visitors and employees and much more.

ID Card Printing Process

The principle for the printing of ID cards is the same for card printers: the plastic card is passed across a thermal print head at the same time as the printer feeds a suitable thermal transfer ink ribbon. The ink from the ribbon is transferred onto the card via heat emitted from the print head. The standard resolution for card printing is 300 dpi (300 dots per inch)

Dye Sublimation

The dye sublimation process uses four panels of color according to the ribbon. These are CMYK. The card travels under the print head and is constantly pushed and pulled forwards and backwards as each colour panel is imprinted. Each colour in turn is diffused or ‘sublimated’ directly onto the card. With the correct additional ‘O’ layer on the ribbon a transparent overlay (O) or topcoat (T) is placed over the card to protect it from physical wear and tear and to make the card resistant to ultra violet light and reduce fading.
